New Diving Vessels

JV - TX (i.e Thelma AS - in cooperation with DeepX AS) has during 2009 and 2010 performed verification testing with reference to NORSOK standards of the diving systems onboard the following two new Diving Support Vessels:

 Technip's vessel Skandi Arctic
 Subsea7's vessel Seven Atlantic

Published: Fri, 30 Jul 2010

Skandi Arctic is an Offshore Subsea Construction and Diving Support Vessel, and the 350msw-rated saturation diving complex consists of two six-man and four three-man living chambers and two three-man diving bells, each of which is 7m3. The system has been tested and complies with Norwegian NORSOK standards. Two 18-man hyperbaric lifeboats are also part of the system.

Seven Atlantic is primarily a diving vessel with a 24-person saturation diving system that includes four 3-man twin lock living chambers, two 6-man twin lock decompression chambers and two horizontal transfer under pressure chambers. The system is designed and tested for compliance with Norwegian NORSOK requirements. Two Hyperbaric Life Boats are provided (one port and one starboard). The bells have 7m3 internal capacity and are launched through two athwartships moonpools, positioned near the minimum motion point of the vessel.

Lloyds Register is the classification company for the diving systems for both vessels.
